State Library Victoria’s startup support service StartSpace has announced the recipients of the 2023 Lisa Ring and Family Scholarships program:
- Aiden Rayner, founder of Don’t Move Until You See It, an online chess training platform which allows players to actively practice chess visualisation.
- Daniel Delaway, founder of The Archive, a platform for the preservation and sharing of human stories captured in cinematic video.

Aiden and Daniel will each receive $10k seed funding, bespoke business coaching and StartSpace Loft Membership for six months, to support their early-stage businesses and grow their knowledge, skills and networks.
Philanthropist Lisa Ring said The Archive and Don’t Move Until You See It are clever business ideas with broad appeal.
“This is the second year of the scholarships and, once again, we were very impressed with the talented, passionate and dedicated business founders who applied,” she said.
“Aiden Rayner and Daniel Delaway’s startups stood out and the way in which they planned how to best apply the scholarship funds demonstrated sound business planning which impressed me.
“I am excited to see the progress that they make in 2023 and extend my sincere congratulations to them both.”
State Library Victoria CEO Paul Duldig said it was wonderful to be able to support Victorian entrepreneurs.
“StartSpace offers Victoria’s early-stage business founders vital resources including practical guidance, workshops and access to coworking spaces.”
“It’s terrific to see our StartSpace community grow and, with the generous support of Lisa Ring and her family, to help new business ideas get off the ground.”
Aiden Rayner said the scholarship will allow Don’t Move Until You See It to reach its potential and improve people’s chess games.
“Visualisation is the skill that separates the Grandmasters from the amateurs and my platform helps people nail this winning technique.”
“Don’t Move is building momentum. The scholarship means I can power ahead with confidence, get the business self-sufficient and build it to the scale I know it can reach.”
Daniel Delaway is looking forward to accessing mentorship and seed funding for The Archive.
“StartSpace will give me a great network to bounce around ideas, be surrounded by, and learn from like-minded entrepreneurs. The scholarship will help us move ahead on our roadmap from a physical studio in Melbourne to an international platform”.
Aiden Rayner and Daniel Delaway will commence their scholarships in January 2023.
