A thirst for invention is part of who we are. In this event, experts in historical patents and patent law will join with inventors and innovators to explore some of our city’s most interesting inventions.
They’ll illuminate the ins and outs of the invention process, from the ‘light-bulb’ moment, all the way through to patenting and commercialisation.
Hear from Farmwall founder Geert Hendrix, Pronto founder Shannon Gilleland, and Fab9 founder Hans Chang.
ABC RN Science Reporter Belinda Smith will moderate, and you’ll also hear short talks from SLV Collections Librarian Greg Gerrand and Patent Attorney and Partner at FB Rice Sylvan Browne.
Exploring historical patents dating back as far as 1854, as well as the future inventions on our horizon, this talk will inspire attendees and share crucial information on how they can get started in their own journey of invention.
